SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word softball team prepares for a midweek matchup against Texas A&M University (TAMU) on Tuesday, April 5, at 5 p.m. CT at Davis Diamond.

UIW HIGHLIGHTS
- UIW ended March with a bang, defeating Baylor University, 6-4, to secure the program's first Power Five win against a Texas school.
- Ryleigh Mata has the third best batting average in the Southland Conference (SLC) with a .405; she also ranks second in hits with 45.
- Two Cardinals sit in the top 10 in the league for RBIs: Avalon Sanchez is second with 27 and Kendall McGary is sixth with 25.
- UIW holds the top three spots for triples in the SLC with Teanna Lucio, Maddie Boldt and Mata all having two on the season.
- Boldt (nine) and A. Sanchez (seven) are one and two in most home runs hit in the SLC.
- Ashley Trapp's 61 strikeouts for the Cardinals lands her at fifth in the SLC.
UIW
- The Cardinals are coming off a tough series against Southeastern Louisiana where they dropped all three games (4-2, 9-1, 7-3).
- UIW is 11-23 overall, 2-4 in SLC play and 4-8 on the road.
- The Cardinals are 0-2 against the Aggies, both of which have been played in College Station.
TAMU
- The Aggies are coming off a series sweep over Abilene Christian University and a six inning, 16-8 victory against No. 17 Georgia.
- TAMU is 22-12 overall, 2-7 in SEC play and 18-4 at Davis Diamond.
- Haley Lee leads the Aggies with a .495 batting average consisting of 47 hits, nine doubles and seven home runs.
- Rylen Wiggins has the most home runs this season with eight.
- In the circle for the Aggies, Emiley Kennedy has secured the most wins with an 8-6 record and 67 strikeouts. Makinzy Herzog has tallied the most strikeouts with 73.
