SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word softball team travels to Lake Charles, Louisiana, to face McNeese State University. The three-game series begins at 6 p.m. CT on Friday, April 29, and concludes with a doubleheader at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 30, at Joe Miller Field at Cowgirl Diamond.

- Ryleigh Mata leads the Cardinals with a .360 batting average and 50 hits on the season.
- Avalon Sanchez has a team-best 30 RBIs, which ranks sixth in the Southland Conference (SLC); she has also thrown out eight runners trying to steal, which places her third in the SLC.
- Maddie Boldt has hit nine home runs this season, which ties for first place in the SLC.
- Ashley Trapp ranks fifth in the SLC with 78 strikeouts.
McNeese
- McNeese is coming off a 3-0 road win against the University of Louisiana Monroe.
- The Cowgirls host UIW with a 30-18 overall record and a 10-2 SLC record; they are 21-9 at home.
- Jil Poullard leads the Cowgirls with a .376 batting average, placing her fifth in the SLC; she also has 35 RBIs and seven home runs.
- Ashley Vallejo has struck out 101 batters to rank second in the SLC.
