SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word softball team heads to San Marcos, Texas, to face Texas State University (TXST) on Wednesday, April 20, at Bobcat Stadium. The first pitch is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. CT.

UIW HIGHLIGHTS
- Aaliyah Garcia pitched a complete seven-inning game in the 5-2 win against UTSA on April 13 to secure the first win against the hometown rival since 2018.
- Maddie Boldt (nine) and Avalon Sanchez (eight) sit one and two in most home runs hit in the Southland Conference (SLC).
- Ryleigh Mata leads the Cardinals with a .367 batting average, placing her sixth in the SLC.
UIW
- The Cardinals are coming off a 5-2 victory against UTSA. They also secured a 6-4 win over Baylor on March 29, marking their first win over a Power 5 opponent from Texas in program history.
- UIW heads to Bobcat Stadium with a 13-26 overall record and a 5-9 mark on the road.
- This will be the final nonconference game of the season before closing out Southland Conference play.
TXST
- The Bobcats host UTSA on Tuesday prior to facing UIW on Wednesday. They currently have a 24-17 overall mark and 7-7 record at Bobcat Stadium.
- Texas State is coming off a series sweep against Georgia State University, which included a run-rule victory in game two.
- Cat Crenek leads the Bobcats with a .385 batting average, while Jessica Mullins leads in the circle with 182 strikeouts this season.
