SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word softball team prepares for a matchup against crosstown rival UTSA. The first pitch is scheduled for Tuesday, April 12, at 6 p.m. CT at Roadrunner Field.

- Ryleigh Mata (sixth with a .379) and Savannah Behabetz (ninth with a .351) rank in the top ten in batting average in the Southland Conference (SLC).
- Maddie Boldt sits at fourth in the SLC for the best sugging percentage with a .621.
- Mata also ranks third in the SLC with 47 hits on the season.
- Avalon Sanchez ranks in the top five in RBIs with 29.
- Boldt (nine) and Sanchez (seven) sit one and two in the SLC in most home runs hit.
UIW
- The Cardinals head to UTSA with a 12-26 overall record and a 4-9 record on the road.
- UIW is coming off a 2-1 series loss against Houston Baptist University.
- Mata leads UIW with 15 multi-hit games this season; she has 47 hits overall.
- Sanchez, Kendall McGary, Boldt have all registered 20+ RBIs on the season.
UTSA
- The Roadrunners host UIW with a 12-22 overall record and a 4-5 home record.
- UTSA is coming off a 2-1 dropped series against the University of North Texas, splitting the first day (W,8-7; L, 6-4) and dropping the series finale (11-4).
- Kat Ibarra leads the Roadrunner offense with a .336 batting average.
- Jamie Gilbert has thrown 47 strikeouts to lead the Roadrunners.
