SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word softball program heads to Abilene, Texas, for a doubleheader against Abilene Christian University (ACU). The first pitch is scheduled for Tuesday, March 8, at noon CT.

KEYNOTES
- Kendall McGary had a season-best six RBIs and two home runs in series against UTEP on March 5 and 6.
- Avalon Sanchez is tied for first place in the Southland Conference for most RBIs this season (19).
- Maddie Boldt currently has the best slugging percentage in the Southland Conference with a .843. She has registered the most home runs this season after tallying another home run against UTEP to bring her total to eight.
- Boldt, Ryleigh Mata and Savannah Behabetz have each hit a triple, which leads the conference.
UIW HIGHLIGHTS
The Cardinals are coming off a three-game series against UTEP, splitting day one with an 8-0 loss before rallying for an 8-7 victory. They dropped the third day, 10-8.
Kendall McGary led the Cardinals in the batter's box to bring her RBI total to 16, second-best for the Cardinals this season. McGary also registered her first two collegiate home runs against the Miners.
Aaliyah Garcia tallied the first grand slam of the season for the Cardinals at the Helen of Troy Softball Complex.
SCOUTING ACU
The Wildcats are currently 9-10 overall and 1-2 at their home field, the Poly Wells Field. ACU is coming off a 1-2 series against Steven F. Austin (L; 3-0, L;6-2, W; 4-3). Calie Burris and Matti Reiling lead the Wildcats in hits with 16 each. Avery Miloch has three home runs on the season and leads ACU with 11 RBIs.
