SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word men's and women's fencing programs will host the NCAA Regional Qualifier on Saturday, March 12, starting at 8:30 a.m. CT, and the inaugural Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Conference Championship on Sunday, March 13, starting at 9 a.m. Both will be held at the McDermott Center.
 
The Cardinals will compete against the United States Air Force Academy, University of California, San Diego and Stanford University for both events.
 
Last season, UIW had its highest-ever NCAA finish with a student-athlete coming in at No. 14 after sending a record six to the NCAA Nationals. This season, 14 student-athletes will be competing for UIW this weekend. 
 
During the lunch break on Saturday, UIW will celebrate its senior class.
 
Saturday, March 12 (NCAA Regionals)
 
8:30 a.m. - Men's Epee Pools Start (3 pools of 5 to Final of 9 on 2 strips)
8:30 a.m. - Men's Foil Pool Starts (1 pool of 13 on 2 strips)
9 a.m. - Men's Sabre Pool Starts (1 pool of 12 on 1 strip)
 
Men's Foil will fence on 2 strips/Men's Epee will fence on 3 strips/as soon as an Epee strip finishes the first round Sabre will start/Epee Final will then be fenced on 2 strips
 
12:30 p.m. - Women's Epee Pool Starts (1 pool of 12 on 2 strips)
12:30 p.m. - Women's Foil Pool Starts (1 pool of 11 on 2 strips)
12:30 p.m. - Women's Sabre Pool Starts (1 pool of 11 on 1 strip)
