Six Cardinals Honored with MPSF & USFCA Awards

SAN ANTONIO – The Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) and the United States Fencing Coaches Association (USFCA) have released the All-MPSF and All-Region selections for the 2025-26 fencing season. A total of six Cardinals earned at least one honor, with several student-athletes claiming recognition on both lists.

Incarnate Word placed one individual, Yassin Khodir (Men's Saber) on the MPSF First Team, while four Cardinals Gracyn Githens (Women's Epee), Jenna Baly (Women's Foil), Amelia Dungey (Women's Saber), and Adham Shalaby (Men's Sabre) earned a spot on the MPSF Second Team in their respective disciplines.

Khodir and Shalaby also earned All-Region accolades for Men's Sabre, and Githens was an honoree among the All-Region Women's Epee group. Sylvain Yang was an Honorable Mention All-Region selection for Men's Epee.

Both lists were based on the final standings of last weekend's NCAA West Regional Championship and MPSF Championship.

The Cardinals' focus now shifts to the National Collegiate Fencing Championships hosted by Notre Dame on Mar. 19-22 in South Bend, Indiana.
