DENTON, Texas – The University of the Incarnate Word artistic swimming team defeated defending national champion Stanford University and Texas Women's University on the first day of the TWU Invitational. The Cardinals won the technical competition, duets and took first place overall on day one. Day two saw UIW finish in second place.
"At this last tri-meet, I was very proud of how the team competed in the technical event," said head coach

It was exciting to have a few event wins over the reigning national champs, but we saw areas where we fell short, and we are working to make those improvements for our upcoming meet."
