Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word softball program dropped two games on day two of the Cardinal Invitational. The doubleheader Saturday afternoon saw the Cardinals fall to the University of Massachusetts, 10-0, and Boise State University, 16-0, at H-E-B field.
 
UIW (0) vs. UMASS (10)
The Cardinals sent five pitchers to face the Minutewomen. Aaliyah Garcia started the game and completed 3.1 innings with three strikeouts. Maddy Blake, Madison Floyd and Ashley Trapp each stepped into the circle before Natalie Myers ended the game. Ryleigh Mata, Maddison Guillen, Maddie Boldt and Abby Frank all registered a hit.
 
UMass came out with hot bats to start off the game. The Minutewomen hit a hard ball to center field, ultimately scoring on a Cardinal miscue and taking a 1-0 lead.
 
Julia Cordon kept the score at 1-0 with a power throw from right field all the way to home plate that caught the runner to end the second inning, but the Minutewomen added a run in the third frame. In the top of the fourth inning, UMass put the cap on the game, scoring five runs to put them ahead 7-0. The Minutewomen added three more runs in the top of the fifth to secure the victory, 10-0.
 
UIW (0) vs. BSU (16)
UIW entered six pitchers to face Boise State University. Annie Gunther started the game and was followed by Ashley Trapp, Natalie Myers, Maddie Blake, Catarina Esteves. Madison Floyd ended the game in the circle for the Cardinals.
 
Mata registered a double for UIW, but BSU improved to 8-1 on the season with a 16-0 win over UIW.
