SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word softball team continues an 11-game home stand on Wednesday, Feb. 15, when it hosts the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay at 1 p.m. CT. The Cardinals then open the 2022 Cardinal Invitational on Feb. 18 against the University of Nebraska at Omaha. UIW will also face the University of Massachusetts, Boise State University and UTSA throughout the weekend.

UIW
The Cardinals head into the week on a two-game winning streak after going 3-2 at the UIW Invitational on Feb. 10-13. Maddie Boldt and Avalon Sanchez had a big weekend where they both went yard three times. Right-handed pitcher Ashley Trapp tied a career-best 12 strikeouts against Cleveland State University on Thursday, Feb. 10.
 
Green Bay
After five games in the UIW Invitational, the Phoenix continue their South Texas road series. Green Bay will face Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in a doubleheader on Tuesday, Feb. 15, before heading to H-E-B Field to take on the Cardinals. They end by facing UTSA on Wednesday, Feb. 16, at 6 p.m. Green Bay is 0-2 against the Cardinals this season.
 
Omaha
The Mavericks travel to San Antonio with a 1-4 overall record after competing in the UNI Dome Tournament in Cedar Falls, Iowa, to start the season. Omaha faced Nebraska (L, 6-1), Iowa State (L, 2-10), Drake (W; 3-2, L; 2-10) and UNI (L, 4-6) over the weekend. They hit a .325 batting average with four home runs.
 
Boise State
After a perfect weekend, Boise State travels to UIW with a 5-0 record. They topped UC Riverside (7-0), Cal Poly (8-7), Middle Tennessee (4-0, 8-1) and Stanford (7-3) to begin the 2022 season. The Broncos are hitting .331 as a team and had eight home runs to start the season.
 
UMass
With an identical record as the Cardinals, UMass comes to town with a 3-2 mark after competing in the Spartan Classic in Spartanburg, South Carolina. They faced North Carolina Central (W; 3-2, W; 11-5), USC Upstate (L; 10-2, L; 1-2) and Towson (W, 5-0). As a team, they are averaging a .284 hitting percentage and have registered five home runs this season.
 
UTSA
After a tough weekend in Houston, UTSA went 0-5 at the Houston Invitational. The Roadrunners faced Texas Tech (L; 0-8, L; 5-6) and the University of Houston (L; 1-13, L; 5-9). They then faced South Dakota on Sunday, Feb. 13, in Hunstville, Texas, where they fell 4-3. The Roadrunners have a .157 batting average as a team and have registered two home runs so far this season.
