SAN ANTONIO - Season tickets for the University of the Incarnate Word women's basketball team are now on sale to the general public. Fans who are interested in being a part of the 2022-23 season can purchase their tickets here. Last season, the women's basketball team set program records, winning four games in four days to clinch the Southland Conference Tournament, punching a ticket to the inaugural NCAA Women's Basketball First Four.
 
"With six incoming freshmen and two transfers, it will be exciting to see how all of the newcomers mesh with our returners to build a cohesive and competitive roster," said women's head basketball coach Jeff Dow. "We are pleased with the progress we have made in the preseason and how quickly the team has bonded.  We're confident that our team will play hard, play together, and be entertaining to watch for our fans.  And this schedule will certainly prepare them for the rigorous journey to defend our Southland Conference championship."
 
Season tickets include home-town rivals UTSA, Our Lady of the Lake, and Texas Lutheran while hosting Northern Colorado and SMU before beginning Southland Conference play. Season ticket holders will receive exclusive gifts, experiences, and priority access for future ticket upgrades and renewals.
 
Destiny Terrell is the leading returner for the Cardinals. Last season, Terrell led the team in rebounds while finishing second on the team in assists and third in scoring. She had a dominating season-high 24 points and 19 rebounds against McNeese in the Southland Conference Tournament to help the Cardinals to a title.
 
Nina De Leon Negron, junior, joined the UIW squad from Austin Peay, while graduate student Yuliyana Valcheva moved across town from UTSA.
