HOUSTON – The University of the Incarnate Word softball team heads down I-10 for a three-game series against Southland Conference foe, Houston Baptist. First pitch is slated for 5 p.m. (CT).

BATTER UP
- As a team, the Cardinals are hitting .222 while limiting opponents to a .266 batting average.
- Two UIW starters are hitting above .235; Jazmine Torres (.353), Maddie Boldt (.239),
- Boldt leads the team with 16 hits, five doubles and nine RBIs.
IN THE CIRCLE
- Annie Gunther leads the Cardinals with a 2.68 ERA and has thrown six complete games. Overall, she has a 4-6 record with 45 strikeouts.
- Ashley Trapp has also contributed significant innings for the Cardinals. Trapp has a 3-4 record with four complete games and also has 45 strikeouts.
SCOUTING HOUSTON BAPTIST
- The Huskies are 11-10 overall with a 4-8 record in the Southland Conference this season.
- Their last outing was against Sam Houston where they won the three-game series, 2-1.
- HBU has five student-athletes hitting above .300 led by Shelby Echols, who has 27 hits and a .391 batting average. She has three RBIs, two doubles, one triple and one home run.
