SAN ANTONIO -- University of the Incarnate Word baseball head coach Patrick Hallmark is leaving UIW to become the baseball head coach at UTSA, announced Director of Athletics Dr. Brian Wickstrom.
 
"I want to thank Patrick for coming in and embracing the new philosophy of Cardinal Athletics," said Wickstrom. "He really stepped up and helped change the culture of the department during our two years of working together. Patrick is an AD's dream coach and the Cardinals will feel his impact for years to come."
 
In two years with the Cardinals, Hallmark compiled a 66-48 overall record with wins against No. 7 Texas, No. 23 Texas A&M, and Notre Dame. Following a 35-win regular season with 18 conference wins, Hallmark was honored as the 2019 Clay Gould Southland Conference Coach of the Year.
 
The Patrick Hallmark Baseball Camps slated to be held at Sullivan Field, sponsored by H-E-B will be on as scheduled.
 
UIW Athletics will begin a national search for a new head coach immediately.
