HOW IT HAPPENED
The Golden Lions plated two runs in the top of the first to take an early 2-0 lead, but the Cardinals drew even in the bottom of the frame. First, Arnold came home on a Valdez double; Valdez then scored on a wild pitch to make the score 2-2.

Arkansas-Pine Bluff regained the advantage in the top of the second, driving in two runs to make the score 4-2. UIW responded, adding five runs in the bottom of the frame -- a two-run home run by Lee Thomas, a RBI double by Valdez, a RBI triple by Ryan Flores and a RBI single by Taylor Smith -- to go up 7-4.

The Golden Lions plated a run in the top of the third to make the score 7-5, in favor of UIW, but the home team answered again. The Cardinals extended their lead to 10-5 in the bottom of the frame when Flores drove in three on a single to right field.

Arkansas-Pine Bluff scored a run in the top of the fourth to cut into UIW's lead (10-6), but the Cardinals answered in the bottom of the frame with two runs of their own. Rogers was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded and Arnold racked up a RBI sacrifice fly to extend UIW's advantage to 12-6.

After two scoreless innings, the Golden Lions scattered four runs in the seventh and eighth innings to make the score 12-10, still in favor of UIW. The Cardinals pushed their advantage out again, scoring three runs on a Valdez RBI double and a Kendall Achilles two-RBI double to take a 15-10 lead.

Arkansas-Pine Bluff plated a run in the top of the ninth but UIW went on to secure the 15-11 victory.
