BEAUMONT, Texas -- The University of the Incarnate Word women's golf team plays in the Lamar Cardinal Challenge Monday and Tuesday at the Beaumont Country Club.
 
THE OPENING TEE
The 54-hole Lamar Cardinal Challenge is a stroke-play tournament that features 36 holes of play on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday. Competition will begin with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. (CT) each day.

First-year UIW head coach Allison Howarth has released her lineup. The number in parenthesis indicates the tee from which each player will begin competition for each round on Monday. Tee assignments will be reordered for Tuesday.

THE COURSE
This is a 5,942-yard, par-71 course. Opened in 1906, the Beaumont Country Club is one of the oldest golfing venues in Texas. The original architect, Alex Findlay, designed "what is now a short, old-school layout with narrow, tree-lined fairways and small, immaculately conditioned greens." Renovated in 2004 by architect Baxter Spann, the new design incorporates "new rolling fairways, deep fairway bunkers, and undulating greens."

 THE BACK NINE
The Cardinals are coming off of a seventh-place finish in the Husky Invitational two weeks ago in Sugar Land, Texas. Lauren Mancha led UIW with an 18^th-place individual finish.
