Box Score LAFAYETTE, LA -- The University of the Incarnate Word Cardinals fell to the California Golden Bears 7-0 to finish out the Ragin' Cajuns Classic on Sunday.
NOTABLES
- Jenna Bleiberg continued her strong start to the season with a 1-2 performance, bring her batting average up to .400 to start the year.
- Nina Flores went 1-2 for the second time this weekend, maintaining her .500 average on the season.
- Brett Coleman went 6.0 innings and struck out three batters in her second start of the year.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Cal got out in front early with a run in the first and two in the second. Coleman held the Golden Bears scoreless in the third, but Cal responded with one run in the fourth and fifth innings, then two more in the sixth to close out the game.
UP NEXT
The Cardinals have next weekend off as they prepare to travel to Houston on Feb. 22 for the University of Houston Classic, where they'll take on Kennesaw State in Friday's opening matchup at 1 p.m.
