HOUSTON -- The University of the Incarnate Word baseball team is slated to play its second fall scrimmage on Sunday against Houston. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m. (CT) at Schroeder Park.
Sunday's game is set to go 11 innings. Admission is free to the public.
"We look forward to playing Houston this Sunday," said UIW head coach
Ryan Shotzberger. "I'm excited to see our guys compete again. I thought last weekend we did a good job against a good Lamar team, but need to continue to develop our identity. This weekend provides another opportunity against a great program in Houston. This will be a good test for us against a perennial top 25 conference champion and regional team in Houston, but it is extremely important in the growth of our program. Both teams will have a similar style so it will come down to execution and competing. I have tremendous respect for Coach Whitting and the Houston program and look forward to watching our guys play this weekend. I'm hoping to see a lot of UIW fans in Houston on Sunday."
