WACO, Texas – The University of the Incarnate Word softball team will have to wait another week to get back on the field, as the three-day Baylor Invitational, scheduled for Feb. 23-25 at Getterman Park, has been cancelled due to rain.
 
The Cardinals (0-4) were scheduled to play Abilene Christian in non-conference action, No. 8/10 Baylor, and Jackson State this weekend.
 
UIW has not played since opening the season at the Texas Classic Feb. 9-11 in Austin.
 
The Cardinals are scheduled to play at the three-day Madeira Beach Classic Mar. 2-4 in Madeira Beach, Fla., where they will face Villanova, Northern Kentucky, Buffalo, Alabama State, and host Eastern Michigan.
 
The Cardinals' home opener will be Mar. 16-17 against Central Arkansas in Southland Conference action.
