POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- The University of the Incarnate Word men's and women's fencing teams concluded competition at the Vassar Dual Meet Invitational. The men registered a 4-4 record, while the women were 6-2.
 
For the men's team, the 4-4 record was an improvement from the 1-6 result at lasts year's competition. The women improved from 3-5 during last year's contest.
 
The men defeated Hunter College, Yeshiva, and Drew University's A and B squads, but fell to Vassar College, Stevens Institute of Technology, Sacred Heart, and Haverford.
 
The women topped Lafayette, Sacred Heart, Hunter College, Long Island University, CCNY, and West Point (Club), while dropping decisions to Stevens Institute of Technology and Drew University.
