SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Former UIW men's basketball standout, Denzel Livingston, has been named Most Valuable Player in the Israeli National League.

Livingston, who plays for Hapoel Kfar Saba, located in Kfar Saba, Israel, about 40 minutes northeast of the capital, Tel Aviv, led his team to a 21-11 record in 2016-17. He led the squad with 21.1 points per game, averaging 8.4 rebounds, 2.0 steals, 3.2 assists, and 37.0 minutes per game. The Houston native shot 49.1 (131-for-267) percent from the floor, 31.6 (62-for-196) percent from beyond the arc, and 80.6 (228-for-283) from the charity stripe.
Livingston had a stellar career for UIW, where, as a junior and senior, he was in the Top 10 nationally in steals and was in the Top 5 in scoring as a senior. As a junior, Livingston was named Second Team All-Southland Conference and All-Defensive Team. As a senior, he grabbed First Team All-SLC accolades and First Team NABC All-District 23 while being named to the Lou Henson Award Mid-Season Watch List.
Livingston has been with Hapoel Kfar Saba since August, 2016. On October 10, he scored 26 points, nine rebounds, one steal, and one blocked shot in his debut, a 92-86 win over Hapoel Haifa.
