HUNTSVILLE, Texas–The University of the Incarnate Word baseball team will close out the 2017 campaign with a three-game Southland Conference series against Sam Houston State on Thursday and Friday at 6:30 p.m., and Saturday at 1 p.m.
FIRST PITCH
The Cardinals lost their last conference series two games to one to Texas A&M Corpus Christi and then dropped a single game against Texas 10-3 on Tuesday evening on the Longhorn Network.

The Bearkats suffered a three-game sweep at the hands of Houston Baptist on the road last weekend, but turned around and beat Texas A&M in College Station 8-2 on Tuesday. They are currently sitting at #4 in the conference, with a chance to finish as high as third for the conference tournament. After dropping the first two games of the conference series to the Islanders last weekend, the Cardinals came back to 10-run rule them 17-7 in game three.
