NEW ORLEANS – The University of the Incarnate Word women's tennis team ended their three-game road trip in Louisiana with a 6-1 Southland Conference loss to New Orleans on Monday afternoon at the University Tennis Center.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Privateers (13-6, 5-3 SLC) got off to a strong start in doubles, as they took they first two matches at #1 and at #3, and were leading at #2 before ending it early. The Cardinals (5-16, 2-6 SLC) were only able to pick up one win on the afternoon. Senior
Sarah Savedra beat Yasmine Rashad 7-5, 6-4 at the #4 position. At #1,
Matea Zemunik won her first set 6-2, but dropped the next two 6-2, 6-4.
UP NEXT
The Cardinals will come back home for a pair of conference matches next weekend. They'll host SFA on Saturday at 12 p.m., and Sunday at 11 a.m. at the Clarence Mabry Tennis Center.
