CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The University of the Incarnate Word women's tennis team dropped a pair of Southland Conference matches 7-0 to Central Arkansas and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi over the weekend.  

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Cardinals (3-11, 0-2 SLC) hosted Central Arkansas (12-1, 2-0 SLC) on Saturday and after long rain delays, the match finally started at 3:15 p.m. The delay didn't seem to bother UCA as they took every match of the day, except for the doubles at the #1 position. Matea Zemunik and Rachel Sadiq paired up to take down their opponents 6-3.
On Sunday, UIW drove down to Corpus to face the Islanders (7-1, 1-0 SLC), and didn't find any luck. They lost every match of the day to an Islander team that has only lost one match all season long.

UP NEXT

The Cardinal will continue Southland Conference play with two road matches against Sam Houston on Friday at 2:30 p.m., and Lamar on Sunday at 1 p.m.
