SAN MARCOS, Texas – The University of the Incarnate Word women's tennis team split a pair of matches Friday. They beat Laredo Community College 7-0 at UIW, and then drove to San Marcos and lost to the Bobcats 4-3.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Cardinals (3-7) hosted Laredo CC and shut them out without dropping a set all morning. In the afternoon match against the Bobcats (3-3), UIW battled the whole way, but fell short 4-3. The Cardinals lost the doubles point, and then won the singles' matches at #1, #2, and #3, but dropped #4, #5, and #6.

UP NEXT

UIW will go to Waco to play Baylor on Thursday at 10 a.m.
