Kevin Smith (Corpus Christi/Incarnate Word Academy) fired a 1-under par round to climb into a tie for 20

As a team, the Cardinals shot an even 300 round on the 7,127-yard, par-72 Sandpiper Golf Course. Smith tied with senior
Scott Shaw (San Antonio/Churchill HS) for low score on the team for the tournament at 222 strokes. Shaw opened the tournament with an even par round and then posted back-to-back rounds of 75. Freshman
Chase Rios (New Braunfels/Canyon HS) had a pair of 73's sandwiched around a 78 to finish with 224 strokes.
The Cardinals finished in eighth place with a total of 902 strokes over the 54-hole tournament. Cal Poly led the tournament from start to finish and ended up at 2-under par 862 after a final round of 291. Grand Canyon finished in second with 872 strokes and they were followed by UC Santa Barbara (874), Long Beach State (878), Weber State (880), CSU-Fullerton (884), CSU-Northridge (886), UIW and Bakersfield (927).
Felix Mory of Northridge fired three straight sub-par rounds to finish as the tournament leader at 8-under par. Brandon Bauman of UC Santa Barbara and Daniel Chian of Long Beach State tied for second place at 4-under par while Cal Poly's Jimmy Castles was fourth at 3-under par.
The Cardinals close out their season next week at the Southland Conference Championship in McKinney, Texas.
