SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS – The University of the Incarnate Word women's tennis team dropped their first home match of the year against the Ragin' Cajuns of the University of Louisiana - Lafayette Saturday morning, 6-1 at the Mabry Tennis Center.

Taryn Strahl (San Antonio/ Churchill HS) earned the single point for the Cardinals winning in the #5 singles (6-3, 6-1) over Juliette Clement. Sophomore
Rachel Sadiq (Frisco/Frisco HS) rallied until the end against Elena Sava but the ULL competitor took the match 2-6, 6-1, 6-2 at #1 singles in the only three-set match of the day.
The Ragin' Cajuns earned the lone point in doubles by winning at #1 and #3. The #2 doubles match was stopped with the UIW duo of Strahl and
Sarah Savedra (El Paso/El Paso HS) winning, 5-4.
UIW will be play at home against the UTSA Roadrunners on Sunday, January 31. The matches will start at 3:30 P.M. at the Mabry Tennis Center.
