SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS – The University of the Incarnate Word synchronized swimming team defeated Stanford University, 28-22 on Sunday afternoon in a technical competition at the Barshop Natatorium. (Results)

The teams sent swimmers out in three divisions to compete in figures.  Katy Wiita had the best performance for the Cardinals with 77.0869 points while Beatriz Regly was right behind her with 76.8889 points.  Stanford's Erica Slavin had the highest score of the day with 78.4688 points.  It was a total team effort for UIW as their depth ended up being the difference in the meet.

The team is back in action next Friday and Saturday at a meet hosted by University of Arizona.
