SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS – The University of the Incarnate Word synchronized swimming team will host Lindenwood University and Stanford University this weekend starting on Friday at the Barshop Natatorium.
Friday and Sunday will only consist of elements while the main event will be on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. Friday and Saturday will be a meet between all three teams and then on Sunday, UIW and Stanford will compete in a dual meet.
The Cardinals are coming off a pair of wins last week in Florida where they defeated University of Florida and the University of Central Florida. The Cardinals came out on top in all categories.
Beatriz Regly dominated the solo free routines and
Emilee Wills was third. The partnerships of
Sarah Cooke and Regly and
Madison Delgado and
Brooke Taylor came in first and second in the duets. In the trio, a combination of
Madison Craney, Cooke and Regly topped the charts while Delgado, Taylor and Willis finished third.
This is the second time this year the Cardinals will face Lindenwood, the defending national champions. UIW came out fighting against Lindenwood and won the opening round of elements, but the Lions came back and won the rest of the meet.
