BLOOMINGTON, INDIANA – The University of the Incarnate Word traveled to Indiana University on Sunday afternoon and lost, 85-49 at Assembly Hall.
The Cardinals (2-0) never led in their first ever game against a Big Ten opponent.  The Hoosiers (4-0) scored the first 10 points of the game and ran away from the Cardinals in the first half.  They outscored UIW, 43-15 in the first half and shot 53.1 percent from the field while holding the Cardinals to 21.2 percent shooting.
In the second half, the Cardinals played much better and were only outscored, 42-34.  UIW shot 50.0 percent from the field in the half while the Hoosiers shot 43.3 percent from the field.
Overall, the Cardinals shot 34.9 percent from the field, made 3-of-14 from three-point range and were 2-for-6 at the foul line.  
Aricka Adams (Round Rock/Round Rock HS) was the only player on the team to score in double figures with 14 points.  
Haley Frias (Georgetown/Georgetown HS) and 
Shanise Brooks (Topeka, KS/Highland Park HS) each scored nine points while 
Jazmine Holman (Arlington/Arlington Bowie HS) had six rebounds, five assists and four steals.  Brooks also blocked four shots.  The team had 28 rebounds and committed 19 turnovers.
The Hoosiers shot 48.4 percent from the field, made 6-of-22 from three-point range and were 19-of-24 at the charity stripe.  Jenn Anderson led the team with 21 points and Tyra Buss added 17 points.  Amanda Cahill posted a double-double with 12 points, 10 rebounds and four assists.  They had 50 rebounds, 22 assists and 16 turnovers as a team.
The Cardinals are back in action at the UTSA Classic this weekend where they will play Fordham on Friday at noon and UTSA on Sunday at 4:30 p.m.
