In a rematch from last Friday, the Cardinals once again defeated the Aggies. They led 2-1 after doubles play and then won three of the first four singles matches to grab the victory.
Jennifer Betancourt and
Taryn Strahl combined for three of the Cardinals' five wins. They teamed together at #3 doubles for an 8-5 victory over Elvira Sholles and Antonia Moberg. Strahl knocked off Florencia Tornero 6-4, 6-4 at #4 singles while Betancourt defeated Moberg 6-0, 6-0 at #6 singles. As a bonus, UIW #1 player
Ivana Katavic upset nationally ranked Amanda Moberg 6-4, 6-0.
The win over the Aggies propelled the Cardinals into the conference semifinals where the Wildcats proved to be too strong. ACU won all three doubles matches and then took the first two singles matches for the easy win.
