SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS – The University of the Incarnate Word tennis teams swept their cross-town counterparts Our Lady of the Lake on Friday afternoon by identical 9-0 scores at the Mabry Tennis Center. (Box Score)

In women's action, the Cardinals (1-0) only lost five total games in the nine matches.  UIW's top three players Ivana Katavic (Split, Croatia/Kamen-Sine), Taryn Strahl (San Antonio/Churchill HS) and Kelsey Reblin (Round Rock/Round Rock HS) each won their singles and doubles matches.  Katavic did not lose a game in singles play and teamed with Andi Botha (Pretoria, South Africa/Akrikanas) for an 8-2 win at #1 doubles.  Strahl and Reblin each dropped only one game in singles and teamed up for an 8-0 win at #3 doubles.

The women are off until next Friday when they host Tyler Junior College at 2 p.m.
