Ashlyn Green led Incarnate Word with 19 points.

In the last women's basketball game of the 2011 calendar year, the University of the Incarnate Word lost to the University of Central Oklahoma, 78-66, at the 2011 St. Mary's Classic at Bill Greehey Arena.

It was the first non-conference loss of the year for the Cardinals, whose overall record is now 7-5.

UIW never led, nor were they ever able to tie the score in the contest, as UCO started out the game with a three-pointer at the 18:47 mark.

Incarnate Word's Ashlyn Green scored 19 points, grabbed 9 rebounds and had 5 steals off the bench to lead UIW in scoring. Meanwhile, Katy Cooke had 15 points and 6 assists as the only other Cardinal player to score in double figures.

The Bronchos had four players score in double digits.

UIW's next game puts them in Abilene, TX for a Lone Star Conference matchup against Abilene Christian University on January 3rd at 5:30 p.m. Incarnate Word returns home to the McDermott Center on January 7th in a 2 p.m. contest against Angelo State University.
