UIW RECORDS FALL IN HURDLES

Incarnate Word's women's track and field team was in San Marcos last weekend and two Cardinals were quick enough over the fences to set new school marks in the hurdles.

Lilya Piskunova and Dakota Dougherty lowered their own previous marks in the 100 and 400-meter hurdles respectively.

Piskunova went first and ran a 15.17 in the 100s to place fourth in the meet.  She broke her own mark of 15.28 back in the first week of March.

Dougherty followed that with a 1:06.49 in the 400s to break her own mark of 1:07.87 from late February.  She finished seventh in San Marcos.

The Cardinals proved to be dominant in the 3,000-meters.  Alma Salinas finished second in 11:15.61 leading a surge of Red and Black.  UIW had runners go second through sixth.

Lauren Pratt gave Incarnate Word another second place finish in a meet featuring Division I schools.  She jumped 5.49 meters to be runnerup in the long jump.
