On the road against Heartland Conference opponent St. Edward's University, the University of the Incarnate Word women's basketball team defeated the Hilltoppers, 80-69, to stay undefeated in conference play.

The victory improves the Cardinals' record to 10-5 overall and 5-0 in the conference. It gives UIW its third 3-game win-streak of the season.

Seniors Nia Torru, Cinnamon Kava and Hayley Harvey led Incarnate Word on the scoreboard with 23, 19 and 12 points, respectively.

The Cardinals led by as many as 25 points over St. Edward's in the second half at the 8:26 mark.

UIW remains on the road this weekend, traveling to Laredo for a conference game against Texas A&M International University at 2 p.m.
