SAN ANTONIO -- Following a thrilling home win to open Southland Conference play, the University of the Incarnate Word women's soccer team will look to keep the good vibes going with two trips to Louisiana.

The Cardinals, who netted goals by Louise Coates and Tyler Coker in a 15-minute stretch to score a 2-1 comeback win over East Texas A&M in its conference opener, will head to Thibodaux to face Nicholls State on Thursday, before traveling to Hammond to take on Southeastern Sunday.

UIW will look to get right on the road, as the Cardinals are 3-0-2 at Gayle and Tom Benson Stadium, while going just 1-4 with four straight losses away from their home complex.

Here is a look at each matchup.

Nicholls (2-3-4, 0-0-1)

WHEN AND WHERE: Thursday, 7 p.m., Thibodaux, La.

ABOUT THE COLONELS: This game will feature the Southland's top-two goalies in saves per-game in Nicholls' Aislinn Wright (4.50) and UIW's Hannah Alexander (4.20).  Alyssa Wheeler enters play tied for second in the SLC with 14 points (five goals, four assists). The Colonels are second in the conference with 37 goals, with 11 of those coming in an Aug. 15 shutout of Arkansas-Pine Bluff, the highest scoring game in program history.

MATHCUP HISTORY: The Cardinals have dominated the series to the tune of a 13-1 advantage with 12 straight wins. All time, UIW has outscored Nicholls 38-8 with nine shutouts, including a 2-0 victory in San Antonio in the SLC opener last season.

Southeastern (5-3-1, 1-0)

WHEN AND WHERE: Sunday, 1 p.m., Hammond, La.

ABOUT THE WILDCATS: Picked to finish sixth in the conference in the preseason, the Lions, who first face East Texas A&M on the road on Thursday, also started conference play with a 2-1 win, theirs over McNeese. Alexandra Knight has been to top offensive option, entering the week tied for third in the SLC with five goals. 

MATHCUP HISTORY: The Cardinals are just 2-9-4 all time against the Lions and are winless in their last eight meetings (0-5-3). Incarnate Word has scored one goal or less in 13 of 15 games against Southeastern, with the Lions winning the last matchup 2-1 a season ago.
