INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Sophomore
Joel Talusen will represent the University of the Incarnate Word men's golf team at the 2026 NCAA Regionals. He will compete as one of five individuals at the Bryan, Texas Regional hosted at the Traditions Club by Texas A&M, where he is the third seed out of the individual competitors. The Regional will go from May 18-20.
Talusen is the first Cardinal to qualify as an individualist since
Joe Buenfeld did back in 2022 for the Bryan Regional.
The sophomore was the top finisher at the 2026 Southland Conference Championship after shooting a 5-under par for the tournament. His best finish at the tournament was a 5-under-par 67 in the second round. Talusen's performance guided the Cardinals to a second-place finish, just one stroke behind UTRGV.
This season, Talusen has tallied two top-three finishes, two top-15 finishes, and one top-20 finish. The sophomore this season is averaging 72.8 through 23 rounds.
