BYRAN, Texas - Sophomore Joel Talusen opened up the NCAA Bryan Regional today, shooting four-over par (76) to tie for 52^nd out of 75 golfers hosted at The Traditions Club at Texas A&M, which is 7,270 yards with a par of 72.

He birdied the fourth hole to get back to even, and on the second nine, he birdied the 15^th, to put him one-over par.  He shot par or better on all three of the par fives, while tallying 11 pars on the day.

Talusen was the 2026 Individual Medalist for the Southland Conference and is the first Cardinal to qualify as an individual since Joe Buenfeld did back in 2022 for the Bryan Regional.

Round two starts tomorrow at 7:30 a.m.
