NORMAN, Okla. – The UIW men's golf team was recognized for its excellence in the classroom as they were named to the President's Special Recognition List for the 2025-26 PLATFORM Golf Team Academic Awards, the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) announced Wednesday.

To be eligible for the President's Special Recognition List, the team must have a combined GPA of at least 3.50. The Cardinals were one of 88 NCAA Division I teams to pick up the accolade. This is the fourth-straight year UIW men's golf has been recognized for the award.

Thomas Chalk, Francisco Taboada and Joel Talusen were named Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars by the GCAA this past week. The trio also received Southland All-Academic Team honors.
