SUGAR LAND, TX. – The Incarnate Word women's golf team sits 16th overall after the first day of the Riverbend Intercollegiate, hosted by Houston Christian University. The Cardinals posted a team score of 599 (+56) after 36 holes played at the Riverbend Country Club.

Incarnate Word started slow with a team score of 317 (+29) in the opening round, but increased its stroke total slightly in round two with a total of 319 (+31).

Maria Jose Ramirez sits in 33rd with 18 holes to play after carding a 77 (+5) in the first round and a 76 (+4) in round two. She totaled a team-high four birdies on the day.

Jordan Sandoval was +6 in her first round, shooting a 78, then followed it up with a five-over-par, 77, in round two. Arwen Settipalli posted 80-82 in her two rounds on the day, and Rachel Seal finished the day with a total of 166 (+22).

The Cardinals wrap up the Riverbend Intercollegiate with 18 holes of golf tomorrow, March 10.
