The Incarnate Word Women's Golf team sits in 12th place after the first day of the West Texas Classic, hosted by Abilene Christian. The Cardinals posted a team score of 604 (+44) after 36 holes played at Abilene Country Club today.
Incarnate Word showed little variation between their first and second rounds, totaling scores of 301 (+21) and 303 (+23).
Victoria Bauer sits in 21st with 18 holes to play after carding a 70 (E) in Round 1 and a 75 (+5) in Round 2. She was in sixth place after her first 18 holes, and opened her second round with back-to-back birdies to join a group atop the leaderboard, but a pair of double-bogeys and another bogey over the next four holes had Bauer fighting back for the rest of the round and enters tomorrow five back of the leaders.
Jordan Sandoval was +3 in her first round, shooting a 73, then followed it up with a seven-over-par, 77, in round two.
Rachel Seal posted 76-79 in her two rounds on the day, and
Maria Jose Ramirez and
Arwen Settipalli are tied with first day scores of 161 (+21).
The Cardinals wrap-up the West Texas Classic with 18 holes of golf tomorrow, March 3rd. Shotgun start of the final round is set for 9:15 a.m.
