Box Score SAN ANTONIO, TX. – The University of the Incarnate Word women's tennis team fell by a 5-2 score to McNeese State University on Monday morning at the Mabry Tennis Center.

With the loss, Incarnate Word falls to 1-8 overall and 0-2 in Southland Conference play, while McNeese improves to 12-1 with a 2-0 record in League play.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• In doubles play, the tandem of Estefania Gonzalez and Ine Lamprecht won 6-3 in the No. 1 flight and Amelie Montalvo teamed with Luciana Paez Hernandez for a 6-3 win at No. 2 to give the Cardinals a 1-0 match lead.
• McNeese opened singles play with wins at Nos. 4, 2, 6, and 3 to earn four points and the match victory.
• Gonzalez was a 6-0, 7-6 winner at No. 1 for Incarnate Word to add another point to the board for the home team before the Cowgirls won the No. 5 match up in three sets.
