SAN ANTONIO, TX– The University of the Incarnate Word baseball team visits Nicholls State, March 21-23 at Ray E. Didier Field. Friday and Saturday's games are scheduled for 6:00 p.m. and Sunday's game is set for 1:00 p.m.

Friday's game marks the 23rd meeting all-time between the two programs.  

UIW   

• Daniel Calabrese is the Red and Black BA. leader, batting .394. Calabrese leads the team with 37 hits. Rob Liddington Jr. leads the team in home runs with nine, runs scored with 27, and RBI with 28.  

• Entering the series, the Red and Black have the fourth-best BA (.314) in the SLC. They also have the most doubles (50), the most hits (253), and the most RBI (182). 

• Josh Salinas has been the Cardinals Friday guy, pitching to a 6.41 ERA, while also leading the team in innings pitched (26.2). Salinas leads the team in strikeouts with 25.  

• The Cardinals enter the series 11-12 (0-9), after defeating Rice and Southern University in midweek games. 

Scouting the Colonels 

• Jaden Collura leads the team batting .324 with 23 hits, 13 RBI, and 11 runs scored.  

• Alec Sparks is 3-1 in five starts and has pitched to a 2.48 ERA. In 32.2 innings, Sparks has struck out 31 batters and allowed nine runs on 22 hits.  

• Nicholls enters the matchup 8-14 (3-6) after getting swept by UTRGV last weekend.
