LUBBOCK, TX – The University of the Incarnate Word track and field team wrapped up the two-day Corky Classic meet Saturday afternoon at the Sports Performance Center.
Alex Brown got things started with a bang on Friday afternoon, placing fifth in the men's weight throw B section. His 16.88 distance was a new PR for the sophomore. Later in the afternoon, the team veteran Kyle Sieracki hit two new PRs in his first meet since the Olympic Trials. Sieracki finished seventh in the men's pole vault (5.06) and seventeenth in the men's 60m hurdles (7.98).
The duo of Abigail Morrow and Isa Gonzalez-Velasquez dominated the women's high jump on Saturday afternoon. Both Morrow and Gonzalez-Velasquez set new PRs. Morrow placed sixth (1.70), and Gonzalez-Velasquez finished ninth (1.70).

Leo Chauchard finished eighth in the men's long jump B section (7.01)

Eric Pineda, Kevin Hernandez, and David Sanchez all ranked in the top 20 in the men's 3000m B section. Pineda finished sixth (8:45.80), Hernandez finished tenth (9:03.93), and Sanchez finished nineteenth (9:31.38)

Ikenna Opara placed twentieth in the men's 200m B section

Ethan Malesich, Laverty, and Anthony Zapata all ranked in the top 15 in the men's mile. Malesich finished seventh (4:15.64), Laverty finished eighth (4:16.20), and Zapata finished fourteenth (4:18.83)
The Cardinals return to action on Thursday, January 30th for the Robert Platt Invitational and Multi's.
