SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word track and field team started its outdoor season down the road at UTSA Invitational over the weekend.
The Cardinals had a successful start to the season with twenty top-five finishes a few in the top three at the meet.
Alisa Novosad placed third in the pole vault with a mark of 3.65 meters.
Bryan Mileski set a new PR in the 8k with a time of 1:53.51 to take second in the event.
William Camacho also had a second-place finish after a 14.41-meter triple jump.
Tristan Garren was the star of the show, not only setting a new personal best but also setting a new school record in the high jump clearing 2.11 meters.
UIW proved why they are a team to be feared moving forward. After just their first weekend of competing the Cardinals have at least one student-athlete in almost every event for both the men and women's squads.
You can find full results on the UIW Track and Field webpages. If you missed the meet this week the Cards will be back in action at Texas State the next two weekends.
