SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word men's basketball team will get their season started on the road with a game against Cal Baptist University at 9 p.m. CT on Monday night. The Cardinals will play their first home game of the season on Friday at noon against Southwestern University on kids' day.

- Ball State Transfer, Jalin Anderson, was named Southland Preseason All-Conference Second team.
- The Cardinals had a great class of transfers including two experienced guards in Anderson and Davion Bailey from Ball State. Mintautas Mockus from University of Central Florida and the number one ranked D2 transfer according to Ballislife in Jordan Pyke.
- With the transfers the Cardinals are returning a few key pieces such as Dylan Hayman, Marcus Glover, and TJ Ford Jr.
SCOUTING THE LANCERS
- Dominique Daniels Jr. was named to Rocco Miller's Non-Power 5 All-American watch list.
- CBU finished last season with a 16-17 record, earning a spot in the WAC tournament. The Lancers made it to the quarterfinals before losing to Seattle University.
- Only one of the Lancers top five scorers from last season, Daniels Jr., returns to the roster this season.
SCOUTING THE PIRATES
- SWU struggled last season only getting two wins on the year.
- The Pirates received NABC Academic Team Award given to teams who have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Five players were named to Honors Court, Brock Luechtefeld, Casey Knudson, Stephen Smith, Jacob Hester and Nick Crump.
