SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word baseball team dropped a close one to the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) on Wednesday night, 2-1, at Roadrunner Field. 

Micah Berens got the start for the Cardinals, pitching 6.1 innings, allowing no earned runs on three hits while striking out three batters in a stellar performance.  

Wilson Ehrhardt drove in the game's first run on a solo home run over the right field wall in the top of the first to give the Cardinals an early 1-0 lead.  

A bases loaded walk in the bottom of the second allowed the Roadrunners to tie the game at 1-1.  

After five scoreless innings, the Roadrunners drove in the go-ahead run on a double steal in the bottom of the eighth. 

The Cardinals put the tying run on base in the top of the ninth, but couldn't bring them in, ending the game at a score of 2-1.
