2023 (Senior): Yanez was a key factor for the Cardinals this season. He was named to the Buster Posey Award Watchlist and totaled 65 hits and 37 RBIs. He had a season-high three hits and four RBIs at Nicholls along with two doubles at Grambling State. Yanez led the team in doubles with 14 on the season and earned SLC All-Conference Second Team honors. 

2022 (Junior): Yanez was one of 76 catchers to be named to the Buster Posey Award watch list. He totaled 26 runs, 55 hits and nine doubles this season. Yanez had 476 catches and 52 assists with 16 double plays as the Cardinals catcher. 

Previous: Played at Cochise College and graduated in 2021 with an associate degree in general studies…while there he made all-region in 2019 and 1^st team all-region in 2021.

High School: Played for San Luis High School where he graduated in 2018.

Personal: Parents are Hugo Yanez and Matilde Meza…his siblings are Luisa and Hugo…majoring in general business and minoring in physical therapy…Born on January 4, 1999, in Mexicali Baja California, Mexico.
