University of the Incarnate Word Athletics

2024 (Senior): Berens finished his senior season 2-4 through 17 appearances and seven starts. He pitched 40 innings while striking out 26 batters. 

2023 (Junior): Berens worked his way into the weekend pitching rotation, appearing in 13 games with 10 starts. He finished the season with a 2-5 record, pitching a season-high seven innings against Southern University while striking out six batters. 

Previous: Attended Northwestern State University (2020-2021), where he appeared in seven games, pitching 12.2 innings while striking out eight batters. Attended Weatherford College (2022), where he appeared in eight games, pitching 40.1 innings while striking out 51 batters.

High School: Attended Timber Creek High School, where he was a four-year letterman for coach Derek Watson’s Falcons.Was second-team all-district selection as a senior, pitching to a 3.10 ERA with 60 strikeouts in 48 1-3 innings.
