CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – On day two of the Kleberg Bank College Classic at Whataburger Field, the University of the Incarnate Word baseball team fell to Utah University 13-6.
 
Wilson Ehrhardt led the Cardinals with two runs, two hits, and three RBI's. Alec Carr and Rey Mendoza each notched three hits on the day.
 
Neither team scored until the bottom of the third inning. Grant Randall was hit by a pitch before stealing second base. Jimmy De Leon, also hit by a pitch, advanced to second off a ground out from Carr as Randall moved to third. Randall then crossed home on a wild pitch and Mendoza plated De Leon off an RBI single.
 
In the next inning, Ehrhardt launched his second home run of the season to right field, this time with three runs to boost UIW to a 5-0 lead.
 
Utah found the plate in the top of the sixth as three Utes scored to etch away at the lead (5-3). Then, in the seventh, Utah tied the game up, 5-5 before taking a three-run advantage in the eighth (8-5).
 
The Utes heated up in the ninth, as a two-RBI single followed by a three-run homerun handed Utah a 13-5 lead, ultimately taking the game, 13-6.
