SAN ANTONIO –
Savannah Behabetz and
Ryleigh Mata of the University of the Incarnate Word softball team were named to the Southland All-Conference (SLC) third team, announced the league office on Monday, May 9.
This season, Mata has registered 57 hits. She led UIW in batting average (.358), runs scored (27), doubles (eight), at bats (159) and games played/started (48). Mata also leads the SLC in at bats and is seventh in batting average and triples (two).
Behabetz ranks second for UIW with a .343 batting average and hit two walk-off RBIs this season. She has tallied 35 hits, two doubles, one triple and eight RBIs for a .382 slugging percentage. She has also registered seven stolen bases this year. In the SLC, Behabetz ranks ninth for her batting average.
The Cardinals prepare for the SLC Championship where they will face Northwestern State University at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 10.
